In the summer of 2023 we wrote about the architectural competition, for which three works were presented for evaluation by the commission. At that time, the works of "Vidurmiestis", "VENI VIDI VIVO (VVV)" and "CEL" were evaluated by Mindaugas Pakalnis, the then chief architect of the city of Vilnius, "YIT Lithuaniamanager Kęstutis Vanagas, the company's Real Estate Director Gytis Jakučionis and architect Vytautas Biekša. It turned out that "CEL" was chosen as the best idea.

The design proposals indicate that the new quarter will consist of apartment building a house with several buildings.

"The functional scheme of the buildings could be divided into three main parts: underground parking with auxiliary facilities, commercial premises on the first floor and apartments on the first and other floors.

An underground floor is designed on the plot. Taking advantage of the terrain under part of the complex, the underground floor runs through two levels. Entrances and storerooms for residents have been designed in the underground parking lot without parking spaces. All staircases and elevators lead to underground floors.

Commercial premises are planned mostly from J.Basanavičius st. in the reviewed areas of buildings A and B. Each commercial space will have a separate access from outside. The apartments will be located on all ground floors of the building. The apartments on the first floors will have outdoor terraces, on the higher floors - balconies or terraces," the project proposals say about the future quarter.

The former VGTU building will be reconstructed into an apartment building
