Until now, the building that has raised a lot of emotions and discussions in the very center of Vilnius, Konstitucijos Ave. 13, will be renovated soon. This year, experts and residents agreed on a new project - built in 1989 apartment building will reach energy class A after renovation.

"We aim to make the Soviet "skyscraper" located in the new center of the capital, which gathers the city's largest companies and performs a representative function, become an example of quality renovation. We can think about renovation not only as a tool for increasing energy efficiency, but also as a way to significantly increase the value of your real estate and create a truly pleasant living environment, not far behind the new Vilnius microdistricts. This project will become a kind of good practice for the whole city", says the mayor of Vilnius Valdas Benkunskas.

Vilnius city municipality and the organization "Let's renew the city" established by her started talking about the renovation of an old apartment building standing in a place of the city embellished with skyscrapers four years ago. Initially, it was planned to integrate renewable energy resources (RES) solutions into the building facade. The first modernization project was innovative, modern and ambitious. And although most of the residents of the apartment building believed in such a project, a few decisive votes were missing.

Since the residents themselves want to renovate the building, which was last renovated in 2000, they started looking for compromises. This year, apartment building owners were offered to strive for A class and a new investment plan was prepared - it was approved by as many as 64 percent. of votes.

The application is currently submitted to the Environmental Project Management Agency (EPA) for assessment and approval. After its approval, the state support contract will be signed and the purchase of the preparation of the technical work project will be initiated. Design work is expected immediately after. The acquisition of these works is planned in the next two to three months.

According to the new project, it is intended to manage the electrical installation, the elevator, renew the facade, windows, balconies, fire protection, heating and sewage systems, and renew the cold and hot water pipelines. The total value of the project is 3,842 million. EUR., of which 3,565 million Eur. consists of contract works. The total state and municipal support will amount to 2,121 million. Eur. Residents will have to pay 1,721 million. Eur.

According to the noise prevention plan, Vilnius City Municipality will provide support for all windows and balcony glazing for the renovation of an old apartment building. A total of 772 thousand is planned to be allocated. Eur.

It is also provided for 100 percent state support for design, construction maintenance and project administration - 277 thousand. Eur. State support for energy-saving measures amounts to 1,073 million. Eur.

In the past year, in order for Konstitucijos pr. In order for the 13th renovation to take place, the "Let's Renovate the City" team organized many meetings with the residents of the house. The head of the institution, Eglė Randytė, says that Konstitucijos pr. The 13th modernization project with AEI lacked a unified solution - there were not only believers in the project, but also skeptics.

After a long time and looking at the progress of the project now, it is obvious that not all owners of apartments and other premises were ready for the implementation of innovative technologies. "In Lithuania, the fear of innovations that at least one neighbor or relative does not have is still common," says E. Randytė. According to her, such solutions are easier to implement for innovative companies when there are fewer decision makers.

A building with a solar power plant integrated into the facade, built by Bod Group, has recently opened. The project is recognized as one of the most advanced in terms of energy efficiency. A similar project was supposed to be on Konstitucijos Ave. 13.

Despite the fact that the residents rejected the original plan, it is good that a general agreement was reached and the building will finally be reborn. The new project will be approved by the Chief. by the city architect, it is intended that it will fit into the general context of the place, and most importantly, it will become more energy efficient.
