From April 1 passenger transport companyLTG Linkpresents the updated annual train schedule, which, taking into account the needs of passengers, includes more stops on the routes Vilnius-Kaunas, Vilnius-Turmantas, Vilnius-Marcinkonys, Vilnius-Airport-Jašiūnai. Earlier, the company announced that two additional stops are also planned on the Vilnius-Riga route. Also, several flights will change their service times in order to attract more passengers.
According to the updated annual schedule, trains will start running on the first day of April, tickets can already be purchased both in the app and online, and at ticket offices. Like every year, when adjusting the schedule, LTG Link planned the changes taking into account first of all the needs of train riders, to which solutions were sought, mostly related to infrastructure capacity. Due to additional stops, the duration of train routes will change minimally - up to 2 minutes.
From April 1 On the Vilnius-Kaunas route, trains will stop more often at Kaišiadorių, Vievios, Karčiupios and Palemons stations. On the Vilnius–Turmantas route, a stop is planned in Gerkonyi at the station, the train running on the Vilnius–Marcinkonys route will stop more often at Paneriu station. On the route Vilnius–Airport–Jašiūnai–Vilnius from May 1. additional flights are planned, and from the first of April - an additional stop at Parudamini station.
"We constantly analyze the needs and changes of our travelers and react, looking for the best solutions to make sustainable and convenient train travel as attractive as possible to the residents of Lithuania and become more competitive with driving by own car," says Kristina Meidė, head of LTG Link.
The results of the company's passenger surveys show that the comfort rating of the train route reaches 9 points out of ten for the second year running. In comparison, in 2021 this assessment reached 8,7 points, and in 2020 - 8 points.
On March 15, ticket sales for the popular Vilnius-Riga route with additional stops in Jonava and Kėdainiai started. During the first week, about 60 tickets were bought for the international route from or to Kėdainii and about 90 tickets from or to Jonava.
Additional late flights are allowed for all Euroleague home matches, subject to potential passenger demand Beautiful during, as well as scheduled trips after larger concerts and events in Kaunas Žalgiris Arena.
As planned works on the railway electrification project continue, LTG Link is increasing capacity during the festive Easter period - for the convenience of passengers on all routes in Lithuania, trains will run normally and additionally on the Vilnius-Klaipeda and Radviliškis–Šiauliai–Klaipėda train traffic will be completely renewed, and increased trains will run.
