Parliamentarians are again calling on the country's retail chains to mark the products of companies exporting to Russia.

In order to inform the country's residents and allow them to decide which manufacturer's products to purchase or avoid, 54 members of the Seimas invite Lithuanian retail chains to mark the goods of those companies that are still supporting Russia's military aggression by supplying their products to the market of this country.

Such an appeal was initiated by conservatives Dalia Asanavičiūtė and Vilius Semeška.

In June of last year, after various Scandinavian organizations announced a boycott of some companies supplying their goods to Russia, conservatives also appealed to the large retail chains operating in Lithuania to mark the products of companies exporting to Russia, but the business did not support the initiative at the time.

At the time, some retail chains said they were afraid of legal consequences due to such marking, while others would expect the authorities' help in accurately identifying the producers of goods still connected to Russia.

A public opinion survey conducted last July by the company "Vilmorus" on behalf of BNS showed that approximately half of the Lithuanian population would like goods whose manufacturers have not stopped operating in Russia to be marked in shopping centers.
