The seventh burger festival "Vilnius Burger Fest" will take place on Wednesday at Vilnius Tymos Market. The festival, which has become an integral part of the urban summer, will once again drown the old town in the appetizing aromas of food.
According to the organizer of the festival, Jonas Mažintas, today's current affairs have encouraged restaurants or good food enthusiasts, who previously did not even think about preparing burgers, to participate in the festival.
"As a result, even loyal participants will discover new things at the festival. The versatility of this dish makes it possible to please visitors with the most diverse preferences - that is why it attracts so many different people to the festival, who create a special atmosphere of the event", says J. Mažintas.
The organizers note that this year the festival participants pay particular attention to the improvement of the classic beef burger. At the festival, it will be possible to taste these burgers with exceptional cheeses, extremely spicy or fruit seasonings, as well as made from beef and vegetables grown exclusively on our own farm. There will also be vegetarian options, burgers made from locally smoked products or interpretations of Asian cuisine.
In total, it will be possible to choose from about 30 different burgers at the festival. Visitors longing for new culinary experiences are lured here by the opportunity to try burgers prepared only once a year. Up to 7000 people have used it in recent years. In addition, at the festival, it will be possible to learn from professional tasters about combining the chosen burger with drinks, and there will also be an unusual hot pepper eating competition in Lithuania.
Today's gourmet burger makers strive to follow the principles of responsible, sustainable food preparation and presentation, which emerged as a response to the fast-food culture. The global gourmet burger trend started more than a couple of decades ago. Eight years ago, this wave also reached Lithuania, when specialized burger places appeared. Later, this dish established itself in the menus of the best selected and restaurants located in various corners of the country.

The festival "Vilnius Burger Fest" will take place in Vilnius Tymos market (Maironio/Aukštaičių st.), from 11:00 a.m. to 23:00 p.m. Entrance to the festival is free.
