The plant is beautiful, but I don't associate sunflowers with Ukrainians at all, but with Russians, who in my Soviet childhood used to sit on benches and spit out the husks, it was impossible to get to the bench.
So maybe plant hemp right away? Skant, as in "civilized" Europe.
