Although the number of paper letters and postcards sent decreases every year, interest in postage stamps both in Lithuania and in other countries does not wane. However, few people know that anyone can easily order a postage stamp in Lithuania - any company or organization, as well as a private person.

According to Aušrutė Varnienė, head of philately projects of Lithuanian Post, personal stamps, the illustrations of which are chosen by the customers themselves, can become a unique and original souvenir and a memorable gift. Several dozen organizations, companies or natural persons operating in Lithuania have already ordered such signs.

"Generally speaking, there are two types of stamps. The first is ordinary signs, the themes of which are approved annually by a special commission for the publication of postage stamps. It selects objects, commemorations of historical events or phenomena that are important for the entire country, which are depicted on Lithuanian postage stamps that appear every year. Meanwhile, the customer himself pays for the issuance of personal stamps, and the visual solution he wants is displayed on the stamp," says A. Varnienė.

It is important to emphasize that both types of stamps are equivalent and can be used to pay for sending a letter, postcard or any other postal item.

It is true that there are certain requirements for personal postage stamps, what cannot be depicted on them - starting with works without the permission of the author, ending with images that are considered prohibited or offensive according to legislation. You can get acquainted with all of them on the subpage of the Lithuanian Post website dedicated to these signs.

A. Varnienė notes that the production of personal stamps takes up to 3 months. The minimum order price of this brand is 2000 euros, for which the customer receives 1000 units. postage stamps. The denomination of each personal postage stamp is EUR 1,00.

All those who are interested and want to order a personal postage stamp are invited by Lithuanian Post to send an e-mail to the address [email protected]. In this letter, you must also add the desired personal stamp design.
