On Friday, UAB "Vilnius lighting” installed another average speed meter in Vilnius. The new facility has been installed in another Vilnius tunnel - this time in the Gudeliya tunnel on the Western Bypass.
Because of the average speedometer installation, traffic from the Tarande side towards Gariūnai was restricted for some time. Traffic was stopped at the Gudelei tunnel. As the company informed, one lane out of four was closed.
Recently new speedometers were installed in Geležinio Vilko st. The equipment is not yet operational, but it is planned to capture offenders at full capacity already in the summer. Average speed meters will also be installed on Narbuto Street, so traffic restrictions due to the installed cameras will soon be possible on this street as well.
There will be a total of four such sets in Vilnius. It is also planned that mobile speed meters will be used in the city, the locations of which will be changed regularly.
