"Vilnius lighting” has almost completed the lighting modernization works in the residential areas of the city. Now the old town will be taken up - here it is planned to renew the current lamps, and in some places the supports will be replaced.

The modernization of the lighting network started three years ago. During this time, 153 km of electric cables, 5817 supports and 492 power points were replaced. Currently, 88 percent all Vilnius lamps consist of LED lamps, which help to significantly save electricity.

"Currently, we are carrying out the phase II project of modernization of the operational lighting network, we are modernizing the remaining street lighting networks in residential areas, courtyards and streets, as well as in the Gudeliya tunnel and other more complex areas of the city. The streets of the old town will not be forgotten either. in 2023 we are planning to replace all the remaining lights in the heart of the city, including Vokiečių street", comments Gintarė Čepulienė, advisor to the Director of "Vilnius lighting".

Technical works have already been prepared for some sections: Arklių g., B. Radvilaitės, Rūdininkų g./ Mēsininkų g., Švarco g. University st. Liejyklos St., Vilniaus St., Palanga St., Maironio St. In these places, not only the lights will be replaced, but also the supports and cable lines.

UAB "Vilniaus elektis" will save about 6 million as a result of the modernization. Eur. After the increase in electricity prices, the city began to save money by dimming the lighting of some of the city's streets. This will help the company save about 4 million more. euros.

The modernization of lighting networks is planned to be completed by August 31.
