Darius Snieška, the head of the Scania Lietuva company, calculates that for now it is not worthwhile for the city to choose only electric or hydrogen-powered transport, because, according to him, a 12-meter-long biomethane-powered bus costs about 300. According to Martynas Nagevičius, head of the Lithuanian Renewable Resources Energy Confederation, electric buses would also need charging infrastructure, which would be expensive - 300 charging stations would be needed to charge new electric buses, and such an infrastructure would require about 45 megawatts of total charging power.
