The "hatched" child found in the nest was removed from the tree and named Lizdeika, and the area where its cry was heard received the name Verkiai.

As if born twice, he acquired the ability to speak the will of the gods, and when he grew up, he became a pagan priest, a "dream specialist", who explained to Duke Gedimin the meaning of the howling Iron Wolf in his dream.

This is how he deserved the name of the co-author of the founding of Vilnius - after all, the dream would have meant nothing if he had not received the "sanction" of Lizdeika.

Another legend says that Lizdeikas, who was still a baby, was found by Gediminas' own brother, Grand Duke Vytenis.

It is said that there was another big city near Vilnius - archaeologists discovered the cemetery of a large medieval city on the outskirts of the capital, near the Palace of Weeping. The first finds testified that rich people lived in the unsurvived city.

Apparently, the chief priest of this medieval city, according to the filing, was mourning his dead wife, so he sought peace on the banks of the Neris. Once as he was walking he heard the echo of a beautiful song, soon he saw a charming maiden and both liked each other.

Legends, unfortunately, hide the spicy details, but a son was born from that love. The law allowed a crook to marry only once, so the two planned to hide the child.

On the day of the hunt, the baby was placed in the eagle's nest and the grand duke riding by heard the child's cry and ordered the find to be taken out of the oak tree. The ruler thought that the child was extraordinary and ordered him to be raised.

Today it is impossible to answer whether these events "objectively" happened. However, we can claim that this actually happened in the legend. And whether the legend "happened" is probably not worth asking. She simply is.
