VilniusAvia Solutions Group" arena is preparing for Saturday's capital city basketball derby between "Wolves" and "Ryto" clubs. In order to ensure maximum security, almost twice as many security personnel will be used for this match as in the first derby.

The "Wolves" club, which moved to Vilnius last summer, plays almost all of its home matches in the largest arena of the capital, while the "Ryto" team plays in this field during international home matches and the most important matches of the Lithuanian Basketball League.

In the event of a confrontation between clubs, both teams play in the Avia Solutions Group arena, but the organization of the event and the sale of tickets are taken care of by the club whose match is considered a home match.

On November 25, in the first Vilnius derby, the home team belonged to "Ryto", at that time, this Saturday, January 13, it will belong to "Wolves". The first confrontation between the teams ended with the victory of the Wolves 84:74, and the match was watched by 6642 spectators.

However, the action in the match, which did not lack intrigue, did not end for the fans until the final whistle. After the match, a row broke out between Ryto's most loyal supporters and Wolves fans in the VIP box, leading to Ryto fans storming the VIP box. The incident was soon quelled by police officers who arrived at the lodge.

After the first Vilnius derby, there was a discussion in the public space, allegedly that "Ryto" club did not provide enough security personnel. For this reason, according to the manager of the arena Andriaus Žiauberis, security will be strengthened for the second team derby.

"The safety of arena visitors is our priority. We had an incident in the first derby that we have never experienced before, so we are glad that no one was physically hurt. After this incident, we initiated a meeting with the security company and discussed the actions that must be implemented in order to ensure everyone's safety", Andrius Žiauberis, the manager of the arena, recalled the events of November.

"Preparing for the second confrontation between the teams in our arena, we communicated with the security company working in the arena, we devoted all our attention and efforts to event would pass safely and smoothly. Based on the recommendations presented, we decided to increase the number of security personnel working at the match from 30, who were working in November, to 49. Our initiative will also be on duty near the arena. police", revealed the manager of the arena and Wolves club.

Currently, in the standings of the Lithuanian Basketball League, "Ryto" club (2nd place) is ahead of "Wolves" (3rd place) by one victory. The derby on January 13 will start at 17:20.

The "Wolves" club, which organizes the match, promises interesting activities and entertainment for the fans in the arena on the occasion of Defender of Freedom Day, which is important for the city of Vilnius, including free distribution of Lithuanian flags, face paintings and temporary tattoos.
