Having achieved another victory, "Biržai" (18/13) is approaching the first position in the regular season. Pupils of Žydrūnas Kačinskas at home 88:73 (22:26, 25:15, 23:17, 18:15) defeated the basketball players of Vilnius "Ryto-MRU" (10/13).
In the first half, the visitors from Vilnius offered a high tempo in attack and took the lead (26:22).
However, the leaders of the championship took the initiative from the second quarter. Led by Vytautas Saulis, the players from Birzea quickly took the lead, and after the third quarter they had a 12-point lead (70:58).
In the decisive quarter, the people of Vilnius reduced the deficit to single digits (77:69), but the hosts did not let go of the initiative and won their 9th victory in a row.
For the winners, Vytautas Saulis scored 33 points, Dovydas Rimkus scored 14, Darius Griškėnas added 12 points.
