UAB "Vilnius public transport"Fencer F1 Integral EV low-floor electric bus was handed over for testing. A new electric bus runs on the streets from April 11 to 24, on route 10.

Bus route 10 runs from Fabijoniškii to Markučių. It was chosen for testing the electric bus because it has a number of hills characteristic of the city of Vilnius, so it reflects the city of Vilnius public transport the complexity of traffic conditions. "The purpose of the testing is to assess the distance this bus can cover when operating on the streets of the capital. This does not mean that such buses will drive through the streets of Vilnius. We are testing, looking at what the market offers," said Gytis Kulikauskas, head of the Quality and Performance Improvement Department of UAB "Vilniaus viešasis transportas".

The bus under test is driven only by electricity, its engine is 250 kW. Battery capacity – 350 kWh (this model is also produced with a 422 kWh battery). According to a preliminary assessment, the bus should cover a distance of about 350 km on a single charge. This bus arrived from Klaipėda to Vilnius only once loaded.

Taking into account the comfort of passengers, the 12,5-meter-long bus cabin has 35 seats and three doors for getting on/off. There are USB charging sockets near the seats, air conditioning ensures comfort. The bus is adapted for people with disabilities.

The driver's area is raised for better visibility, and the height of the steps throughout the vehicle does not exceed 200 mm. Video cameras are installed in the bus cabin, and screens are installed in the driver's cabin. With them, the driver can monitor the image that is normally seen through the side mirrors.

The Fencer F1 Integral EV is equipped with safety systems such as pedestrian protection, blind spot detection, forward collision warning, and a 360-degree view system. The drivers are equipped with an alkoblok, which prevents an intoxicated driver from starting the engine.

The body construction of this model uses a lot of composite and corrosion-resistant materials, so the vehicle is suitable for Lithuanian climate conditions. More than 30 such vehicles are already in operation in the Baltic States.

Currently, there are 25 electric buses in the Vilnius public transport system, and it is planned to purchase another 2028 electric buses by 297.
