There is another "talking bus" line in Vilnius. From now on, you will also need headphones when boarding the 6G bus. While traveling on it, you can not only cover the 10 km long distance from the Green Bridge to the New Vilnius Ring, but also listen to the stories of the city. This was taken care of by the team of "Neakivijdinios Vilniaus", which prepared a new audio route "Expedition "Ryttu Expressu" on the 6G bus. From Šnipiškii to New Vilnius, or from the center to the eastern outskirts".

"We are continuing the fun and sustainable tradition of getting around Vilnius by public transport. As the weather warms up, Vilnius residents and curious guests of the capital wanted to get acquainted with the eastern outskirts of the city, remind them of the old salt road, the history of the Rokantiškii castle, the Pūčkiori cannon foundry, and other perhaps unheard stories. And when you get off at the last stop, you can take a walk around the awakening nature", Sonata Griškienė, the initiator and coordinator of the "Invisible Vilnius" project, Senior Advisor of the Department of Foreign Relations and Tourism of the Vilnius Municipality, urges you to look out of the bus window in a different way.

The 6G bus runs on a truly special and eloquent route. After starting the journey at the oldest bridge over the Neris in Šnipiškės, it later covers the outskirts of Žirmūnai and Antakalnis, climbs up the mountain along Olandų Street, the legendary In Užupi reminds of the rulers of Lithuania who marched to the East in the direction of Polotsk. The route continues to surprise with a long stretch of forests, an enchanting landscape, until it reaches New Vilnius, a district that once had the status of a separate city.

"Today's express buses allow you to quickly go from the city center to the outskirts. 6G is no exception. For history buffs, this route offers a wonderful opportunity to learn a handful of the most interesting facts about the capital's past in just half an hour. For example, when driving past the Polotsk station, it is worth remembering that the city of Polotsk, located in present-day Belarus, was once one of the most important in the entire Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The road leading from Vilnius to Pollock is sometimes even called the "salt road" because various luxury goods were transported along it. The Polocko street and the stop remain in Užupy as a reminder of the old highway. It remains to imagine the rulers, warriors or merchants who once traveled along this route," intrigues guide Albertas Kazlauskas, who created the route.

Was "road salt" salty, why? On Holland Street there were never any dutch people and who blew the whistle? All the answers to these questions are waiting for those who, after getting on the 6G bus and marking the ticket, will play the corresponding audio track from the new audio route at each stop in the "Neakivadinio Vilniaus" mobile app or on the website.
