On Saturday evening, the newly reconstructed LVSO concert hall (former Vilnius Congress Palace) opened its doors in Vilnius, which meets the highest international standards and is the only one specially adapted for symphonic music in Lithuania. Grand opening concert received a group of distinguished guests and music connoisseurs.

"The day has dawned when the new, renovated concert hall will be opened with the first concert today. This has never happened in the history of Lithuania. This is a very good, significant and important cultural event", said the artistic director and chief of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra at the beginning of the dress rehearsal of the opening concert. conductor, maestro Gintaras Rinkevičius.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Lithuania came to the ceremonial opening of the new LVSO concert hall Gitanas Nauseda with Mrs. Diana, Their Excellencies the Ambassadors of the States, the Mayor of the City of Vilnius Valdas Benkunskas with his wife, representatives of the Lithuanian cultural elite, other distinguished guests. The audience praised the impressive interior of the hall, and after the concert, they were happy with the amazing acoustics of the hall.

"I want to thank the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Kaunas State Choir, the Lithuanian National Opera Theater Choir, the Boys and Youth Choir "Ėuoliukas" and all the soloists for being together tonight. You all understand very well when this is a historical event, a very important event for Lithuanian musical culture and Lithuanian culture in general. For the first time, the hall was renovated to be suitable for symphonic music and to have really good acoustics. This is a huge event, because it has never happened in Lithuania. I'm very happy that it happened, that we were able to play the first one today a concert, and thank you very much to all of you for being together in this concert", said maestro G. Rinkevičius to the guests after the concert.

For the opening concert, maestro G. Rinkevičius chose one of the greatest works in the classical symphonic music repertoire - the Eighth Symphony of the Austrian composer Gustav Mahler (1860–1911). The eighth symphony surpassed all the ideas developed by G. Mahler in terms of its scale, the grandeur of the composition of the performers and even the idea itself. It was performed in the LVSO concert hall by soloists sopranos Ksenija Bachritdinova-Kravchuk, Kamilė Bonté and Austėja Zinkevičiūtė, mezzo-sopranos Justina Gringytė and Ieva Prudnikovaitė, tenor Karolis Kašiuba, baritone Raimundas Juzuitis, bass Tadas Girininkas, Kaunas State Choir (conductor Robertas Šerveniks), Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre choir (conductor Česlovas Radžiūnas), boys and youth choir "Ėuoliukas" (conductor Vytautas Miškinis) and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by maestro G. Rinkevičius.

On Sunday, March 17, the audience is still waiting for the second opening concert of the LVSO concert hall, and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra intends to announce more information about future concerts in the new hall next week.
