"My heart is overflowing with joy because this is a special day. I want to congratulate all music lovers, all those for whom classical music is important, especially our symphony orchestra, with a new, beautiful concert hall", said maestro G. Rinkevičius. It is planned that the LVSO concert hall, equipped according to the latest standards and characterized by exceptional acoustics, will become one of the most attractive concert venues not only in Lithuania, but also in all the Baltic countries.

"What we see today is the result of a huge joint effort. Not only participated in the implementation process of the LVSO concert hall reconstruction project The Ministry of Culture and the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, but also experts from the Union of Lithuanian Architects, the Department of Cultural Heritage, architects and many other specialists," said Stasys Pancekauskas, head of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra.

From the beginning, the reconstruction was planned to be carried out in two stages. During the first stage of reconstruction, the design of the hall was fundamentally changed: the roof of the building was raised, and a 984-seat concert hall was equipped on the basis of an amphitheater. In addition to the impressive interior, the most modern technological acoustic, stage, lighting, ventilation, heating systems and other solutions have been implemented. Renovated lounges, changing rooms and staircases for visitors, sanitary units installed in the basement. The hall is adapted for people with disabilities. The acoustics project of the LVSO concert hall was prepared by the Lithuanian company "Akustika Plius", advised by a team of acoustic consultants from Germany, led by prof. skilled Dr. by Wolfgang Ahnert. The unique interior of the hall was created by designers Marius Mateika and Indrė Ankudavičienė.

"Currently, all the works of the first stage of reconstruction have been completed. However, there is a considerable challenge to complete the works of the second phase. We are waiting for these works to start Ministry of Culture permit. The second phase of work, which includes all energy efficiency measures, will be funded by the Environmental Project Management Agency. The external walls of the building, the roof will be insulated, the windows will be replaced, and the musicians' rehearsal rooms will be fixed. Therefore, for some time you will still see construction workers' scaffolding near the LVSO concert hall building", said S. Pancekauskas, head of the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra.
