The temporary head of the Finance Department of Turto banka, Ernestas Česokas, says that independent experts will now assess whether damage has been done to the state.
"Independent construction experts will evaluate the situation at the facility, the compliance of all performed works with construction documents and the project. If the initial suspicions are confirmed, Turto bankas will seek compensation for the damage to the state", says E. Česokas in the report.
The chancellor of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Jovita Petkuvienė, says that if the suspicions are confirmed, it is promised to contact the law enforcement regarding possible fraud.
"When new circumstances regarding the ongoing reconstruction in Trakai became clear, it is important to take legal action in a timely manner. If the disclosed information is correct, the responsible persons cannot avoid responsibility", J. Petkuvienė said in the report.
According to Turto bankas, after the evaluation, it will be considered whether to terminate the contract with "Vilungės statyba" and how to seek compensation for the damage to the state and legal responsibility.
It was decided to stop construction after Turto banka became aware of information about the contractor's possible non-compliance with project decisions and falsification of technical documentation.
