Fashion and the church are two inseparable poles throughout the ages. Once upon a time, the church aimed to enlighten and educate the illiterate parishioners with stories from the Bible and enchanting colors embroidered on the priests' aprons. And the parishioners used to enter the church only after being cleanly washed and beautifully adorned.
"More and more often we deny fashion and its influence - fast, cheap, polluting, meaningless, redundant, unnecessary. But when we see any clothing, we immediately measure ourselves: beautiful - ugly, would I wear it or not for me. After all, taste, the power and charge of clothing are our daily choices and basic culture, or lack thereof. "Fashion infection" returns to the old town of Vilnius - after two years of negotiations, the festival will open the doors to the fashion paradise St. Catherine's Church. "The more often I visit this church, the more beautiful it is every time - the baroque magnificence dazzles my eyes!" If during other events we are used to seeing this space colorfully lit and beautified in every way, we will not try to compete with the authentic beauty. On the contrary, we will emphasize even more the unique features of the space and four centuries of immortal craftsmanship. There is a mild doubt in my mind - will modern design, in terms of its taste and execution, become an equal contrast to baroque?", S. Straukaitė intrigues.
It is not surprising that St. The vaults of St. Catherine's Church became the main starting point for the graphic design of this year's festival, the author of which is designer Lukas Juščius. It can be said that "Fashion infection" grows its own talents, because Lukas came to the festival as a volunteer when he was still a student, and today he is a member of the creative team.
While fashion always prefers a longer catwalk, this year it will be the shortest in the history of "Fashion Infection". No matter where you sit, everything will be seen up close and from head to toe.
