Gambling houses Klaipėda and Vilnius-based port city company "Nesė" should become one of the main sponsors and partners of the basketball club "Wolves" founded and managed by businessman Gediminas Žiemelis, the club's representative confirmed.
"(Nesė - BNS) will become one of the partners, yes (...) Partner and sponsor are basically a play on words here. Yes, they are planning to become one of our general sponsors", Martynas Pocius, spokesman for the Wolves basketball club, told BNS on Monday.
He did not specify what kind of support Nesė will give to the capital's basketball club.
"Avia Solutions Group" arena and Nesė announced on Wednesday that they intend to introduce a new partner and name of the arena, as well as a new partnership of the gambling company in the field of sports and entertainment.
Nesė will present its new online brand, its development plans in Lithuania and abroad, as well as one of the largest sponsorship contracts in the country's sports history," Nesė announces.
Company manager and owner Alvid Pauliks could not be contacted by BNS on Monday.
The representatives of the club and the arena did not provide more information about the cooperation between "Nesės", "Avia Solutions Group" and "Wolves".
Avia Solutions Group arena representative Laurynas Ribakas told BNS that the name of the arena will be related to the company Nesė, but this name will not appear in it.
"In that direction, but you are a little mistaken with concepts, names. I can't really confirm that this will be the case. Everything will become clear on Wednesday", said L. Ribaks to BNS.
Last October, based on sources, the news portal "15min" announced about a new gambling company "Twinsbet" being established in Lithuania, which may be related to the projects of businessman G. Žiemelis.
According to the portal, the company "GT Sportas", which submitted the trademark "Twinsbet" to the Lithuanian Patent Office, is registered in the "Avia Solutions Group" building - business center "Aerocity Tech Valley”.
In addition, as "15min" announced at the time, a short description of "Nesė Group" in English was placed in the "GT Sportas" employee search ads instead of the company description. These representatives denied their partnership with Twinsbet and told the portal that they knew nothing about the ad. Later, GT Sportas corrected the description in the job advertisement.
However, the details on the Twinsbet website include the name and contact details of "Ness".
The Gambling Supervisory Service BNS stated on Monday that at the end of March last year Nesei issued a permit to organize remote gambling on the website www.twinsbet.lt
The former Vilnius "Siemens" arena was renamed "Avia Solutions Group" in 2021, after it was purchased by the company "DG21" controlled by G. Žiemelis.
