It's been a while public transport passengers notice that there are trolleybuses running around Vilnius that do not have ticket dispensers. JSC "Communication services” (hereinafter: JUDU) notes that this can happen if trolleybuses “replace” broken down vehicles.
"Due to the principles of organizing the work of carriers, for example, in the event of a vehicle breakdown, repair, technical inspection, or a vehicle involved in a traffic accident that makes it impossible to continue the journey, there may be cases when the carrier releases vehicles without composters on the routes," he told the portal. Greta Vasiliauskaitė, JUDU Communication Specialist.
JUDU specialists receive information about non-functioning composters (or their absence in the vehicle). Passenger control is also informed about such cases, so passengers cannot be penalized in such cases. However, as the specialist points out, even such cases do not exempt passengers from the obligation to have a public transport ticket.
We want to ask you, have you had a ride with the "ghost trolley"?
