"Tonight, the snow will sprinkle and bite with frost, the wet, compacted snow will be compressed by the cold, so it will be slippery in many places. Calmer, drier weather will be brought in tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday night by an anticyclone ridge that briefly broke through from the east. But Wednesday night will be cold again, with good frosts both in the air and on the ground, especially in western and northern areas. On Thursday, another southern cyclone, with the beautiful name Biruta, will pass through Lithuania. It will bring a little warmer weather, but it will be abundantly watered. After a wet Friday, at the weekend and at the beginning of next week, the anticyclone should "hug" Lithuania with its warm, dry western edge. The evil frosts will come to an end, and it should warm up almost summer-like again. So far, such good news for the future. But if nature decides to play tricks again, we will revise the forecasts and report as soon as possible," says forecaster Elvyra Latvėnaitė.
