For two nights in a row, one of the most impressive sky phenomena - the northern lights - could be seen in Lithuania.
Photographer Ričardas Andriuška around 03.30:XNUMX. This phenomenon was also recorded in the vicinity of Nemenčinė.
"I planned to photograph the Milky Way tonight. I saw that the clouds were coming from the south, but I set off hoping to be faster than the latter. Unfortunately, it didn't work - when we arrived at the location, the center of the galaxy was already hidden by clouds. Well, I started looking around the rest of the sky and saw some pillars forming in the north. I point the camera - oh, it's bright! At least such an unplanned but pleasant meeting", writes Ričardas Andriuška.
Lithuanians who want to observe the aurora continuously are invited to follow the information published by "Space Weather Live" on the "Weather and climate in Lithuania" account.
"The northern lights appeared both today and last night, but they were unimpressive and dim (not visible to the naked eye). Of course, it was not possible to capture it everywhere, because the sky was not clear everywhere. Besides, it's cold at night this week, so not many people wanted to go outside.
Whether there will be aurora or not, we always recommend following the information published by "Space Weather Live". Although we recommend using the EN version due to the specific astronomical vocabulary, we have translated the website and the app into LT. If you find gross errors, let us know where and what is wrong," writes "Weather and climate in Lithuania".
