The Vilnius-Riga train, which has been running since the end of December, starts stopping at two more stations - Jonava and Kėdainiai - from Monday. More stops are also planned on some local train routes.
According to the passenger transport company “LTG Link", due to the additional stops, the journey between the capitals of Lithuania and Latvia will not be longer - the train will run faster after the reconstruction of the railway section Gaižiūnai-Kaišiadorys.
Additional stations on this route are still a pilot project and will last until the end of the year.
The daily train journey between Vilnius and Riga takes just over 4 hours. So far, they have taken part in Kaišiadorys, Šiauliai, Joniškis and the Latvian city of Jelgava.
As "LTG Link" is updating the train schedule, from Monday on the Vilnius-Kaunas route, they will stop more often at the stations of Kaišiadorių, Vievios, Karčiupios and Palemons, Vilnius-Turmantos-Gerkonių at the station, at the Vilnius–Marcinkonyi–Panerii station.
The train running between Vilnius, the airport and Jašiūnai will run more often from May 1, but from Monday it will stop at Parudamini station.
According to "LTG Link", the duration of the routes will change minimally - up to 2 minutes due to the additional stops.
