After the completion of the repair of the overpass on A. Goštauto Street, vehicle traffic will resume on it from Sunday. Traffic restrictions were imposed early last week after specialists identified the need for repairs following an annual inspection. During the repair, the support structures of the flyover were checked, and the broken rainwater drainage system was repaired.
After the restoration of the traffic, the 56 route buses will also return to the normal route. As before, going in the direction of Fabijoniškii, they will stop at the "Verslo trikampis" and "Independence Square" stops.
Inspection of bridges, viaducts and overpasses maintained by the Vilnius municipality is carried out every spring. If the need for repair is determined, it is immediately organized, thus preventing possible major defects in the future. This allows for smooth and safe traffic in the city.
