The court rejected the Irish and Hungarian airlines'Ryanair"And"Wizz Air"complaints about the increased fees in 2023 Vilnius airport, reported Lithuanian airports (LTOU).
On March 27, the Vilnius Chamber of the Administrative Court of Regions rejected the complaint of "Ryanair" and "Wizz Air" - they asked to annul the orders signed by the head of the Lithuanian Airports (LTOU) and the head of the Lithuanian Transport Safety Administration (LTSA) in 2022.
"Court's decision to reject Ryanair and "Wizzair"complaints are confirmed by the fact that Lithuanian airports properly applied the legislation governing the determination of fees and followed all the procedural rules established in the legislation when setting the new toll amounts," LTOU representative Marius Zelenius said in a comment to BNS.
"The decision to change the fees from January 2023, 1 was dictated by the significantly increased costs in various areas over the past few years, and the aforementioned fees for airlines at the capital's airport have not been changed since 2018," he added.
Both airlines said a year ago that the order of the head of the LTOU, by which the new ones were approved Vilnius airport tolls, and the order of the LTSA rejecting the companies' complaint about the new tolls are unfounded.
Back in February 2023, the court rejected the company's request to temporarily suspend the validity of the orders and apply the fees valid until January of that year.
LTOU said at the time that both Ryanair and Wizzair often complain about airport charges in other countries.
