From 2024 April 19 Lithuanian passengers can already fly regularly between Athens (Greece) and Vilnius airport with the new airline Aegean Airlines. During the official presentation, the representative of Aegean Airlines, which is starting operations in the network of Lithuanian airports, emphasized that this route is an excellent choice for holiday travelers to regularly reach Greece and its islands.
"We are delighted to launch a new direct flight between Athens and Vilnius, this route reflects our commitment to expanding our operations in the Baltic region. Lithuanian passengers from Vilnius can travel directly to Athens twice a week, and then through our company's flight network, they can also reach other destinations in Greece, Europe and the Middle East," commented Dirk Steffensen, representative of Aegean Airlines, during the official presentation.
It is reminded that regular flights will be operated twice a week with Airbus A320 type airplanes.
The head of Lithuanian airports, Simonas Bartkus, emphasized that the Greek airline will complement the growing ranks of traditional airlines at the capital's airport.
"As representatives of airports, it is very important for us not only that our country's travelers will be offered a more convenient way to connect with popular holiday regions, but also that a large number of passengers will be able to comfortably use connecting flights through the Greek capital and reach an even wider range of countries or regions of the world ", said the head of Lithuanian airports.
