In the spring, trips around the country become more active - many go on trips to favorite and less discovered areas. Lithuanian manors can be mentioned among these, about five hundred of which have survived. Among them, there is a considerable part of abandoned, unused, at the same time less known buildings and homesteads.

Mantas Brazdžionis, who has been actively traveling around Lithuania for several years, says that many of the estates he has visited fascinate with their unique stories.

"Each manor has its own aura, unique architecture, and their impression is often strengthened by impressive, changing stories," observes M. Brazdžionis, who shares his discoveries from the most interesting corners of Lithuania on the YouTube platform. According to the traveler, it is especially interesting to visit estates located not in big cities, but in small towns, characterized by their own authenticity and landscape.

In the north Vilnius district part, in the south of the Aukštaitija region, hide two very beautiful, but at the same time radically different manors, Vyžulėnai and Glitiškii.

Vyžulėnai Manor not without reason is considered one of the most impressive in the whole in Vilnius district. They arose in the XNUMXth century. at the beginning and belonged to the famous lawyer of that time, Bronislav Vrublevskis. However, he could not stay here for long - after the Soviets occupied Lithuania, the Vyžulėnai manor turned into a sanatorium, and then a tuberculosis hospital. Two decades ago, the health facility closed its doors, and since then the building has ceased to have any activities, and the estate, surrounded by picturesque nature, is disappearing.

Meanwhile, nearby Glitiškii manor going through a period of revival. More than 500 years ago, Dominican and missionary monasteries were active in this area. During the German occupation, the mansion was turned into a prison, and during the Soviet era, a school operated here. Most recently, both the main palace of the Glitiškii Manor and the surroundings were completely renovated.
