If the first hamburger appeared in the German city of Hamburg, the first McDonald's concept should undoubtedly be associated with the United States of America - in 1937. McDonald's was conceived by brothers Richard and Maurice McDonald. Their small business idea took on a completely different dimension when they met Ray Kroc, the brand's founder and later owner.

The first fast food in Lithuania restaurant opened its doors in 1996. May 15 near Vilnius buses of the station. In the same year, three more chains were opened restaurants in the capital. The most popular McDonald's to this day is Gediminas Ave., which opened its doors in 1996. August 1

The opening of McDonald's in Lithuania 22 years ago meant more than just a new restaurant. Back then, it was a special occasion, symbolizing the beginning of a new western era, bringing new quality standards to the country.

Currently, there are 13 McDonald's restaurants in Vilnius operating in the country, Beautiful, Klaipėda and Šiauliai.
