A common resident of Vilnius has no idea how many spaces are unused in the center of Vilnius - Skaiteks, dilapidated penitentiary, several abandoned monasteries are just the first things that come to mind. And where else is the Kirdiei Palace, the quarter next to the French Embassy, The buildings of Mount Savior, let's not forget the abandoned and dilapidated Sports Palace. It is hard to believe that the city, where almost a quarter of the space in the center is not used, is still able to continue expanding to the outskirts. Perkūnkiemiai and Naujieji Antakalniai are now sprouting where the fields were tilled yesterday.

One such place in the center of Vilnius, which has been abandoned for quite some time, is the Red Cross Hospital complex, squeezed between Radvilai, Tilt and Žygimantai streets. These premises have been empty since 2013, when the last employee moved from there to Santariškes. In the huge area there was a polyclinic, gynecology and obstetrics departments, and a park - even an annex-orangery of the winter palace of Juozaps Tiškevičius, clearly visible from the river. Now all this stands abandoned, surrounded by a construction fence, unused and undeservedly forgotten.

Some of the buildings in the complex are of Soviet, box architecture, some are older, from the XNUMXth century. beginning All of them are interconnected by basements and underground corridors that can be used to pass from one end of the complex to the other. It will take at least a couple of hours to go around everything fairly, but the premises are very similar, it is enough to see the basements and the old building.

And let's go down to the cellars. All buildings are interconnected by a network of tunnels. There are so many passages, passages, and technical tunnels that there would be no problem to hide if you wanted to.
