On the last day of the World Swimming Championships, Lithuanian swimmer Rūta Meilutytė broke the women's 50m breaststroke record and won the second gold medal.

This is already her second medal in this championship. In Fukuoka, Lithuania also won a gold medal in the Olympic 100 m breaststroke event. She regained this title even after a ten-year hiatus.

The swimming news portal Swimswam.com announced that the first place winners will receive 20 thousand from the organizers. dollars (or about 18 thousand euros) prize. Having won first place twice, R. Meilutytė will receive 40 thousand. dollars (about 36 thousand euros).
