The International Cycling Union (UCI) has announced the quotas for the cycling track competition of the Paris Olympics. Olivija Baleišytė and Vasilijus Lendel earned tickets to the most important sports event for Lithuania.  

Participated in the Olympic selection Misty Lendel Lithuania secured fourth place in the women's sprint reserve list.  

Olivia being coached Dmitry Leopold, will be able to participate in the omnium (all-around), and Vasilijs, who is trained by a Scotsman Craig McLean ir Anatoly Novikov, fighting in sprint races and keirin.

The men's sprint race (30 participants) of the Olympic Games will be held on August 7-8, the keirin (30 participants) on August 10-11, and the women's omnium (22 participants) on August 11.

Olympic selection for track cyclists has been held since 2022. July 9 until 2024 April 14 Track and field athletes could earn points for Olympic selection in the last two continental championships (coefficient - 0,75), in 2023 World Cup (coefficient - 1,5) and six in 2023 and 2024. In the stages of the UCI Nations Cup competitions (two best achievements from each year were taken; coefficient - 1).

Lithuania already has one ticket to the women's road cycling group race of the Paris Olympic Games.
