May 3rd the LRL semi-finals have begun. Our team met with "Varas-Stronglas" in Alytus. Here, the winner was determined only after a series of penalties. During almost all the matches, the hosts "Varsa-Stronglas" were leading with 1-2 goals. However, our team constantly caught up with the rivals. The two halves ended in a tie 28:28. After playing an additional 10 minutes, the score was tied again at 34:34. The second overtime also ended in a 40-40 tie and the teams lined up at the 7-meter line. Here, luck accompanied our handball players, who snatched the victory 45:43.
Mantas Urvikis was the most productive player in our ranks, scoring 13 goals. Eimantas Sinkevičius added 6 goals to the victory, Skirmantas Plėta and Karolis Bliuvas scored 5 each. Tadas Stankevičius, who scored 13 goals, did not save the Alytus team from defeat, Vilius Juozaitis scored 10 goals, Arminas Stankūnas scored 6 goals.
