In the final of 2017 Laura Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė won the silver medal at the stage of the world modern pentathlon cup in Vilnius.
The Olympic champion started 14th in the combined running-shooting event, but managed to climb to 2nd place and finished with 1369 points.
The leader of the Lithuanian national team could not overtake only the Hungarian Tamara Alekszejev (1384 points), who had as much as 77 seconds before the final match. advantage over L. Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė.
Bronze went to Gulnaz Gubaidulina from Russia (1365).
"I tried very hard to focus specifically on shooting. Only by hitting well could I get closer to first place. I managed the excitement and managed to shoot accurately. And running is my strong point", said L. Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė after the competition.
"Before the riding event, the gap with the leaders was big enough, so it was very important to perform well in the riding event. That was the only way I could fight for a medal. Thank God, everything worked out."
Lina Batulevičiūtė scored 1318 points. and took 14th place. This is the best result of her career. In the last race, she started from the 7th position.
Ieva Serapinaitė finished 1280th with 20 points, although she also started from a higher position in the shot put - 11th.
