This week JAV Lithuanians performed successfully in many athletics competitions. Volunte won the Mt.SAC Relays for the second time this year Mykolas Alekna. The latter threw the discus 68.35 m and left the Briton behind Lawrence Okoye (66.15 m), who won bronze at the European Championship. After taking the first place, Mykolas became the third discus thrower from Lithuania (after Roman Ubarto ir Aleknos of Virgil) who triumphed in this competition.
The sprinter even enjoyed three victories in the "Transatlantic Series" competitions held in the same city Tomas Keršulis. The athlete won the 200 m event (20,90 sec.), the 400 m event (45,91 sec.) and the 4×100 m relay (40,22 sec.). In addition, in the 4×400 m relay team, the second place was won (3 min. 13,71 sec.).
Had a great performance at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa Greta Karinauskaitė, who won fourth place among 3000 participants in the 120m steeplechase. After covering the distance in 9 min. 46,72 sec. Greta broke her own Lithuanian U23 record.
The 17-year-old also set a record by Cameron Rohde 110 m hurdles. The match in 14,47 seconds. the winning athlete took fifth place in the "Mt. SAC Relays" competition and broke the Lithuanian 17-year-old record. By the way, the athlete finished second in the 300 m hurdles (38,22 seconds).
The prize place was happy Agnė Lukoševičiūtė, who threw the hammer 61.39m to finish third at the Pacific Coast Invitational. Also, the all-rounder won the third place in the "Mt.SAC Relays" competition Beatrice Juškevičiūtė, who became just the sixth Lithuanian to surpass the 6000-point mark (6073 points) in the heptathlon event.
