Saturday, April 8, in Berkeley (JAV) participated in the competition for the first time this year Mykolas Alekna. At the Brutus Hamilton Invitational competition, the discus thrower, who became world vice-champion and European champion last year, threw the tool 68.39 m and took first place.
Throwing the discus 68.39 m, M. Alekna improved the season's best result in the world. Until now, it belonged to a Slovenian Kristjan Čeh, who threw the discus at the European Throwing Cup with a time of 68.30.
Coach Manto Jusio the pupil has already fulfilled the standard for the World Athletics Championship, which will be held in Budapest (Hungary) on August 19-27.
