On Sunday, April 16, Manchester (United Kingdom) hosted one of the country's most prestigious marathons (about 28 participants), where a 38-year-old long-distance runner won Ignas Brasevičius. The winner covered the track, which is famous for its speed and flatness, in 2 hours. 16 min. 27 sec. The British came second Kieran Walker (2 hours 17 minutes 30 seconds), and the third Ollie Lockley (2 hours 20 minutes 47 seconds).
After the finish, I. Brasevičius did not hide that he came to win: "I knew that this track is extremely fast and thanks to personal records."
The marathoner, who had the goal of running with the group, said that he felt great during the competition, so he could sprint the last section.
"This victory is a gift to my son, who celebrated his birthday yesterday," said the winner.
For the victory, Ignas will receive 2000 pounds (2237 euros).
