The travel and familiarization project "Let's get to know Lithuanian estates" continued for two years. During this time, many Lithuanian castles and estates were visited, and many travelers were curious and admired them. The most active travelers, who have collected beautiful collections of symbolic manor keys and sent cards to the Association of Lithuanian Castles and Manors, will be welcomed at the final celebration of the project in one of the manors very soon.

"Let's get to know the mansions of Lithuania" is a project that encouraged more people to travel around the country, to open the doors of many impressive castles and mansions, to learn the secrets and beauty of cultural heritage. And to make the journeys even more fun, travelers would ask at all the participating estates for symbolic 'keys', signifying that they had opened another door to a heritage site.

Castles and estates throughout the territory of Lithuania invited us to come and unlock the doors of historical cultural heritage objects. These are historical objects that have been restored and come back to life, often full of culture and tradition nurturing activities, and mansions that have just been brought back to life.

Participated in the project Castles of Biržai, Medininkai, Tauragė, Panemune, Trakai Island and Trakai Peninsula, Alanta, Abromishkii, Antašava, Aristavėli, Aukštosii Freda, Bistrampolis, Burbiškis, Hugo Šojaus, Ilzenberg, Jurbarkas, Kelmės, Kuršėnais, Lipliūnais, Liubavs, Markučiai, Paežeriai, Paliesias , Plunge, Renavo, Rokiškis, Tuskulėnai and Verkii manors, Sirutis Palace. All these historical objects are very interesting in themselves, and many of them are full of educational, recreational and cultural activities. Castles and manors scattered all over Lithuania - each one is unique, interesting in its own way and definitely worth discovering and getting to know.

Travelers to Lithuanian castles and manors could also vote for one of the project participants in two nominations: the most liked and the most hospitable castle or manor. Who will these titles go to? We will announce it soon.

The project encouraged more traveling around Lithuania and getting to know the estates' heritage better

"Congratulations on such an interesting and successful project! The whole family was interested in the project, so we all visited together. We got to know some of the Lithuanian manors, we were impressed by the sincerity of the employees, their love for their work, and we learned a lot of new things. As a mother, my goal is to instill in children the desire to get to know their country first, to develop love for their country. We caught the excitement from the very beginning, so we looked forward to every trip with great pleasure. We look forward to new projects! I hope to see you!"- from feedback.

During the project period, Lithuanian castles and estates received more visitors than usual. Travelers were interested in heritage objects, their history, participated in cultural events, excursions. They not only discovered the magnificent buildings, their environment and history, but also met and got to know the people who nurture the cultural heritage, for whom, taking the initiative and responsibility to restore, protect and nurture the unique heritage of our country, it is also important to share their love for it, knowledge, ideas.

Those who participated in the project often share great impressions and good feedback. The Association of Lithuanian Castles and Manors received a number of calls and letters from travelers. There are quite a few for whom trips to the estates have become a long-term plan for the whole family.

Castles and mansions attract not only those interested in history and heritage, but also culture and art lovers, as well as anyone who is indifferent to beauty, looking for places with a special aura, where wonderful memories are created when visiting.

By implementing this and other awareness and dissemination projects, the Association of Lithuanian Castles and Manors fulfills its mission - to continuously spread the word, to encourage knowledge, to reveal the charm and importance of cultural heritage, and to inflame as many people as possible with love for it.

Travelers who participated in the project but have not yet sent a traveler card can send scanned or photographed cards until 2023. by email at the end of October [email protected].
