Vilnius Municipality, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation signed a tripartite agreement on the list of routes important for business and inbound tourism and measures to promote flights to and from the capital. This agreement aims to ensure sustainable flights on the most important routes and to stimulate not only supply but also demand. The MadeinVilnius.lt portal asked Vilnius residents whose direct flights are missing the most.
Most of all, Vilnius residents would like to see a direct flight to the Czech capital - Prague. Even 26 percent voted for her. of respondents (682 votes). New York is in second place. 19% voted for him. people (493 votes). Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, is in third place. 14% would like a direct flight from Vilnius to Lisbon. (369 votes) of respondents.
The other votes lined up like this:
- 5% voted for Spain's Madrid. people (133 votes);
- Singapore got just two less votes. 131 people voted for him;
- Chicago scored 4 percent. (104 votes);
- Manchester, Great Britain, one vote less - 103;
- 3% would like to fly directly from Vilnius to Athens, Greece. of respondents (75 votes);
- Instead, only 2 percent to Budapest, Hungary. (63 people);
- Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, collected one percent of the votes of the MadeinVilnius.lt poll (26 percent);
- Only 16 people would like to fly directly to Bucharest, Romania.
Even 10 percent of those surveyed (270 votes) would like to fly in a different direction than was indicated in the survey, and 7 percent. (185 votes) the question turned out to be irrelevant.
The MadeinVilnius.lt survey took place from Monday, October 30, to Friday, November 3. A total of 2650 people participated in the survey.
According to the tripartite agreement, the Ministry of Transport and Lithuanian airports will seek to ensure a sufficient supply of the most important flight directions, and the Ministry of Economy and Innovation and the capital city municipality will take care of the demand for flights by publicizing the flight directions and possibilities.
