In March, the implementation of projects for the improvement of the transport infrastructure important for the Trakai district begins.
At the intersection of Fabrikos and Galvės (highway A16) streets, the construction of a traffic light-controlled intersection will soon begin. Actively cooperated with the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Lithuania, "Via Lietuva" (formerly the Directorate of Motorways of Lithuania), Vilnius city municipalities managers, so this week the construction site will be handed over to the contractor. The implementation of the project will solve the long-standing problem of ensuring the safety of this intersection.
The representatives of "Via Lietuva" informed the municipality of Trakai district that contracts have already been signed for capital repair works of sections of district roads of state importance (Fabriko and Geležinkelios streets). The asphalt surface will be repaired, pedestrian and bicycle paths, lighting, a rainwater collection system and bus stops will be installed. These works will begin in mid-March. All this is the result of the active inter-institutional cooperation of the municipality of Trakai district.
Issues regarding the viaduct on the Vilnius–Trakai overhaul. On March 8, a tender was held for the purchase of additional works, it is expected that the works will be completed within 6 months.
