The birthday of the city of Trakai, mentioned for the first time last year, will be celebrated again this year - on September 8-10. in Trakai will be held for the city's 701st birthday events. The mayor of Trakai district municipality Andrius Šatevičius invites you to come to Trakai on this great occasion and reminds you that, although the day of the city's founding was decided to be held on September 8, the festive events will take place for three days and, starting on Friday, will give you a really great, cheerful September weekend.
On September 8, the main day of the festival, at Vytautas Didijos krante (Karaimų str. 57A) from 18.00:XNUMX p.m. education will take place. Clay pots will be molded, dolls will be tied, coins will be minted, bread will be baked, a postcard for Trakai will be made and the city crossword will be solved.
In the evening, the Trakai Palace of Culture will present a performance - a three-part mystery "The Love Story of Kęstutis and Birutė" (starts at 20.00:XNUMX p.m.). This work is a romantic legend about Duke Kęstutis and Birutė, which tells the story of Trakai.
The first part of the performance will reflect the life of the puppeteer Birutė in Palanga, the second part will reflect the meeting of Duke Kęstutis and Birutė. In the third part, the legend of the founding of Trakai will be told - it is said that Duchess Biruta liked the place surrounded by lakes and therefore Kęstutis started building a castle and the city of Trakai.
Will appear after the performance Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre soloist, baritone Steponas Zonys. He will perform a musical greeting to the city - the anthem of Trakai will be sung.
From 21.00:XNUMX p.m. this stage will host singer-songwriter GJan with the band concert, and from 22.00:XNUMX p.m. DJ Leon Somov will entertain the audience.
September 9, Saturday, at Vytautas Didijos krante, 13.00:16.00 p.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. the fourth Joniškiečiai picnic will invite you to join. The first is like this event was organized in 2019 in Vilnius, 2021 took place in Riga, 2022 – Klaipėda.
During the picnic, there will be no shortage of sports competitions, educations, good mood and memories of Joniškis. Joniški residents and guests will be able to get to know and taste dishes of the culinary heritage of the Joniški region. Joniškis region folk artists will present their products and crafts. Joniškis cultural center's amateur art groups will appear on stage.
The guests from Joniškis also prepared a surprise - at 16.00:69 p.m. In the Trakai Culture Palace (Vytauto St. XNUMX), the community of creators will be waiting for the audience with the festive musical "Times and other subtleties" (directed by Violeta Tuomaitė and Dovilė Juknienė).
Klaipėda residents will also come to celebrate the city's birthday. Sunday, September 10, at the Trakai Palace of Culture at 15.00:XNUMX p.m. Klaipėda Youth Theater performance "Chaos" (dir. Valentinas Masalskis) will begin.

September 8 event participants will be able to return to Vilnius by train. Two train journeys from Trakai to Vilnius are planned for this evening (22.05:23.55 p.m. and XNUMX:XNUMX p.m.). And so that you don't have to rush to the railway on foot of the station, will be driven by city buses, which have specially adapted their schedules to the trains for the participants of the festival who want to catch up.
