The municipality of Trakai District invites you to Trakai, because during the Christmas period there are many events and activities planned here, especially on Karaimų Street, which is suitable for pedestrians. The observation deck in front of the Trakai Island Castle will have a skating rink throughout the winter, the "Christmas Factory" creative workshop will be held at the Trakai Art School, and a fair will be bustling in the Christmas tree alley stretching along Karaimų Street. The little ones will be delighted by the wandering post of Santa Claus, who will invite them to a different area of the city every weekend. The recreation complex "Slēnis" on the peninsula will become the residence of Santa Claus and will invite you to participate in Christmas activities throughout December. The Trakai Culture and Art Center will share the Christmas spirit, offering a whole range of events. And everything will start soon - with the lighting of the city's main Christmas tree on the first day of winter.
The Christmas tree of the city will be lit up
On December 1 from 18.00:XNUMX p.m. On the bank of Vytautas Great in Trakai (Karaimų str. 57A) the Christmas tree lighting festival organized by Trakai district municipality will take place. City residents and guests will be delighted by a theatrical performance based on the fairy tale "The Sun and the Moon", followed by a performance by singer and actor Martynas Kavaliauskas concert.
As the Christmas period approached, residents of the city of Trakai, educational and cultural institutions, and businessmen were invited to decorate their institutions and homes - the environment - with the theme of Christmas stars, so that the city would acquire a unique and harmonious meaning. So together with the Christmas tree, the most creative, warmest, coziest Christmas stars will light up in the city!
The skating rink, which will be open all winter at the Observation Deck in front of Trakai Island Castle, will invite you to dive into the winter frenzy this coming weekend. On weekdays, the skating rink will be open from 12:21 to 10:21, on weekends and holidays from XNUMX:XNUMX to XNUMX:XNUMX.
The Christmas market will be bustling in Eglučiai Alley
This year Trakai will turn into a cozy and sparkling Christmas town, after the implementation of the new idea of the Christmas tree alley on Karaimų street. All educational institutions, companies, organizations, and communities were invited to participate in the initiative and prepare to exhibit their own star-lit trees or Christmas installations on Karaimų street. All these trees will light up together with the main city tree on December 1, as if inviting you to embark on a unique Christmas fairy tale.
After the main Christmas tree is lit, a Christmas market will be held on Karaimų Street every weekend until Three Kings, until January 6. Artisans, entrepreneurs, farmers will present their works and products there. Warm tea and treats will warm you up when you feel the chill of winter.
Christmas factory
Many Christmas educations and workshops will await residents and guests of the city. On the first weekend of winter, December 2, in a restaurant "Apvalaus stalo klubas" (Karaimų st. 53A, Trakai) will show a play for children (registration is required, phone 8 615 52 436), there will be an angel and gnome workshop, and it will be possible to meet Santa Claus. On December 9, the Trakai Art School (Karaimų st. 10, Trakai) will invite education: making various Christmas toys (from secondary raw materials, wool) and cards, tying the "Dream doll", creating a textile puppy and an angel, and the students of this school and teachers' concert "Listen how the stars sound". A week later, on December 16, at the "AJ Šokoladas" restaurant (Vytauto str. 4, Trakai), the public library of the Trakai district municipality will conduct the education "Santa's Glove". The Christmas post office will be open during these events.
A fairy tale in the valley - in search of Christmas dreams
From December 2 to 30, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Christmas activities and events. The first of them is a spectacular fire show on the shore of the lake on December 2nd!
