The sudden rise in outdoor air temperature established the real spring weather. Some municipalities in the country have already announced the end of the heating season. Given the near-term forecast of cooler weather, in Vilnius district the decision on the end of the heating season has not yet been taken.
"Spring is a time of change. The latest weather forecast is for cooler weather next week. Therefore, we will monitor the situation for the time being and will not interrupt the centrally provided heating. As warm weather prevails at the moment, we reduce the heating in residential apartment buildings, general, pre-school education and health care institutions as much as possible," says Vilnius district Miroslav Romanovski, head of the local economy department of the municipal administration.
in 2023 for centrally heated residents of the Vilnius district, the heating was turned off on April 19, in 2022 - on May 5, and the heating season of 2020-2021 was one of the longest heating seasons in Vilnius district municipality – the heating was turned off on May 10.
