On Wednesday, September 27, the conference "Restored Medininkai Castle - 5 years" organized by the Trakai History Museum will be held in the Medininkai Castle (Medininkai km., Vilnius district). The conference reports were published in the publication of the same name, with a circulation of 150 copies.

The conference will talk about the oldest stone castles in Lithuania, review the development of the destruction and rescue of the Medininkai Castle, present the archaeological research of the castle site, XIV-XV centuries. funeral scene in the surroundings of Medininkų, discussed the significance of the castle of Medininkų in the XNUMXth century. late-XNUMXth century Ave. in the context of power conflicts. Dr. Juozas Galkus, Gintautas Terleckas and Tomas Petrauskas (History Museum of Thrace).

Medininkai Castle - the oldest brick fortress in Lithuania; since 2004, the castle has been a part of the Trakai History Museum. In 2010-2012, the museum implemented the first stage of the reconstruction of Medininkai Castle from the funds of the European Union Structural Funds. A museum has been established in the main tower of the castle - a 27-meter-high keep, with five exhibition halls. in 2012 September 28 the castle was opened to visitors. Exhibitions are organized and held in the museum events, conferences. The castle, raised from the ruins, became the focal point of the cultural life of this region. The conference and publication dedicated to the five-year anniversary of the reconstruction of the castle are intended for both specialists and the general public.
