in New City, surrounded by apartment buildings at Savanorių Ave. A new public space will appear at 22A - with children's playgrounds, recreation areas and a sports field. The project was prepared with the private funds of the developers, its implementation will be financed Vilnius city municipality, the contractor will supervise the works "Beam".
The planned green space is located near the shopping center Hyper Rimi" and a newly constructed office building. Walking paths, swings, and climbing frames are provided in the almost 40-acre square. The children's playground will be covered with a multi-colored rubber covering that meets safety standards, so it will be suitable for even the smallest visitors. Next to the children's playground, there will be an active leisure zone, fitness equipment.
For the employees of the offices located next to it, this square will become a new space to rest, chat or have a snack. Hammocks will be hung on the apple trees growing in the square. Bicycle storage is also designed.
When coordinating the project proposals, after comments from the residents, the sports field was moved away from the apartment building and moved closer to the administrative building, the area of the children's playground was reduced, and a green area was planned on the site of the former sports field - this way the residential building will be covered from the noise of the games.
About 50 trees grow in the area - firs, maples, chestnuts, small-leaved lindens, white-flowered robinias, several apple trees. In the project, it is proposed to remove only four trees in a very bad condition that cannot be preserved, and to integrate all the others into the new space. During the maintenance of the square, it is planned to plant red maples, willows, oaks, rowan trees, and dogwoods.
The installation of the square will also solve the problems of rainwater infiltration. Two urinals are designed in the square, to which it is planned to direct rainwater, which would slowly drink into the ground. They will be planted with moisture-loving plants. According to the wishes of the residents, the area of water-permeable surfaces was increased, by changing the rubber covering of the sports field to a hybrid lawn.
The project proposals and the preparation of the technical project were financed by the business center developer UAB "Madata". Design proposals were prepared by R. Mažeikaitė IĮ "Mažasis atriumas" on their order.
The works are planned to start in June and be completed by the end of this year.
