The Islamic State group (IV) has claimed responsibility for Friday's deadly gun attack at a Moscow concert hall that Russian authorities say killed at least 40 people.
IV militants "attacked a large gathering (...) on the outskirts of the Russian capital Moscow," the group said in a statement on the Telegram messaging app.
The IV statement said the attackers had "retired safely to their bases". This was reported by the IV-affiliated Amaq news agency, citing unnamed sources. It is often the first to issue IV statements about responsibility for terrorist attacks in Western and other countries.
