German carmaker Mercedes-Benz is recalling about 341 GLE and GLS models manufactured since 000. until 2017 because of the risk that they could catch fire, Germany's car licensing authority KBA said on Thursday.

The message states that the 48 volt ground wire contact may be defective, creating a risk of the vehicle catching fire.

The attached contact should be checked and repaired if necessary, the statement said.

In Germany, more than 11 cars may have this defect. Mercedes-Benz itself has not yet commented on this incident.
