President Joe Biden called Russian President Vladimir Putin a "crazy son of a bitch" at a public fundraiser in California on Wednesday.
"We have a crazy bitch like that guy Putin and others, and we always have to worry about nuclear conflict, but the existential threat to humanity is the climate," Mr. Biden said in a brief speech to a small group of reporters in San Francisco.
In January 2022, Mr. Biden similarly called a Fox News reporter a "son of a bitch."
Mr. Biden has spoken strongly before, especially when he called the Russian president, who ordered the invasion of Ukraine in 2022, a "slaughterer" and a "war criminal."
Mr. Biden said that JAV will announce a package of tough new sanctions on Russia on Friday over the death in prison of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
At the fundraiser, Mr. Biden also attacked his likely opponent in the November election, Donald Trump, for comparing his own legal troubles to Mr. Navalny's fate.
"If I had stood here 10-15 years ago and said all this, you all would have thought I should be locked up [in a mental hospital]," Mr. Biden said.
