Italian fashion designer Roberto Cavalli died at the age of 83 after a long illness.
This was reported by news agencies ANSA and Adnkronos, citing his friends and family.
R. Cavalli was one of the most famous Italian designers. He rose to fame in the 1970s with his exotic prints, furs, feathers and faded jeans. He often said that he was interested in wild animals, which inspired many of his works.
Cavalli died in his hometown of Florence. He was interested in fashion from an early age. R. Cavalli presented his first ready-to-wear collection at the age of 30, and in 1972 He opened his first boutique in Saint Tropez, France. There, one of his first clients was the actress Brigitte Bardot. The designer's clothes were also worn by other celebrities, which made R. Cavalli even more famous.
He designed men's and women's clothing, accessories, eyewear, watches, jewelry, perfumes, underwear, shoes, and beachwear, among others.
