On the evening of April 19, around 17 p.m. 40 min., in Vilnius, on Sidarionių str., the crew of the traffic police department failed to stop a Yamaha moped.
At the time when the police officers approached the moped stopped at the intersection, its driver, avoiding the inspection, suddenly moved from the place and ran away. While increasing the speed, he overtook other vehicles - after crossing a narrow continuous line, he forced other road users to change their driving speed, direction or even stop. Driving dangerously, he drove on the sidewalks, and after entering the territory of the shopping center, he drove against the traffic, across the lawn, where motor vehicle traffic is prohibited.
After a half-hour chase, around 18 p.m. 10 minutes, the moped was stopped and the driver was arrested. It turned out that the moped was driven by a 15-year-old (born in 2008) who does not have the right to drive, and the moped he was driving was not registered in accordance with the established procedure.
